Elijah Wood is Very Venice
Posted on Jan 04 2009 by ashley

Just Jared - January 4, 2009

Elijah Wood puffs away on his cigarette as he hangs out with a mystery male on Sunday (January 4) in Venice, Calif.

The 27-year-old Lord of The Rings actor was seen picking up a magazine from a newsstand earlier in the day. He later hopped into his Audi A4 with his friend.

Elijah’s upcoming animated flick, 9, will released later this year. According to Wiki, 9 takes place in a world parallel to our own, in which the very legacy of humanity is threatened. A group of sapient rag dolls, living a post-apocalyptic existence find one of their own, 9 (Wood), who displays leadership qualities that may help them to survive. The conflicted, but resilient group includes 1 (Christopher Plummer), a domineering war veteran; 2 (Martin Landau), an aged inventor; 5 (John C. Reilly), a stalwart mechanic; 6 (Crispin Glover), a visionary and artist; and 7 (Jennifer Connelly), a brave warrior. The trailer also shows two hooded rag dolls with the numbers 3 and 4 on them. In addition a large strong rag doll has the number 8 on his shoulder.

Tim Burton's '9' Looks Awesome
Posted on Dec 26 2008 by ashley

The Feed - December 26, 2008

Tim Burton hasn't been involved with a good movie in a while, in my opinion. It seems like he never really recovered after that cinematic abortion called Planet of the Apes. However, I have always given him the benefit of the doubt, and walked into all his movies with hope that it would bring back the magic that I felt the first time I saw Edward Scissorhands (I actually really liked Sweeney Todd, but I'll never admit it in public).

Well I might soon change my tune, because the trailer for the new CGI feature, 9, produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov, the guy who directed Night Watch and Wanted, looks AWESOME. Maybe it's the sweet post-apocalyptic setting, maybes it's the awesome character and set design, or maybe it's just the kick ass Coheed and Cambria song playing over the trailer, but I'm super stoked. Plus it comes out on my birthday.

9 was directed by Shane Acker; a first time director who worked on the Weta special effects team during production of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, and made the original 9 short film on his own back in 2005. With a cast full of stars like Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, and Crispin Glover, this movie has the potential to be utterly spectacular or a huge disappointment. I'll save hope for the former. Hit the source link to check out the trailer for 9 on Apple's website and get stoked.
