  • Elijah’s date and place of birth are 28 January 1981, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA.
  • Elijah has several nicknames, these are Elwood, Lij, Eli, The funny and Monkey.
  • Believes his best role to date was Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
  • Owns one of two rings from the trilogy. The other went to Andy Serkis (Gollum). Also has the hobbit feet he wore and the sting sword.
  • Has a tattoo. Each of the nine Fellowship members got the same one. It is the number nine written in Quenya i.e. Elvish. Elijah’s is on his pelvic bone on the right side. He has no piercings.
  • Owns his own record label, which Elijah set up in 2005 called ‘Simian Records’.
  • Elijah is a fan of the football club West Ham United.
  • In 2006 he became the voice of  Spyro the Dragon for video games, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. He also voiced his film character ‘Mumble’ for the ‘Happy Feet’ game.
  • Elijah is a big fan of music. He had over 4000 CD’s. Here are a few of his favourite bands: The Smashing Pumpkins, The Hives, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, The Stones Roses, Flaming Lips, Massive Attack and The Sundays.
  • Elijah heard of the role of Frodo Baggins whilst filming The Faculty in 1999. He therefore sent in an audition tape of himself dressed as a Hobbit to Peter Jackson, who was in New Zealand at the time. He heard he got the role a few months later.
