Elijah talks about The Hobbit at this years Comic Con. Watch below:

Saw those pictures of Elijah filming Maniac? Well the trailer has been released and its a bit graphic and involves scalping and other gruesome stuff and…. go see for yourself… If your not likely to faint or anything. Its age restricted for obvious reasons.

Elijah is featured in NUVO magazine, the front cover an inside shoot and interview. The interview was by Jenny Hontz and the shoot was photographed by Matthew Welch.

Here is an excerpt from the interview:

In Wilfred, the second season of which debuts on FX on June 28, he plays a suicidal (and possibly psychotic) ex-lawyer befriended by his neighbour’s mutt, whom he sees as a pot-smoking Australian guy in a dog suit.

“I’m a huge fan of the movie Harvey, and it’s sort of like a very twisted, much darker Harvey,” Wood says. “The man in the dog suit is a manifestation of something psychologically going on with this guy. My interpretation is that it’s a portion of his psyche that had been dormant for a long time—the portion that sort of pushes you to do things that you wouldn’t normally do, or may not necessarily be good for you to do. But it forces him to experience things that ultimately help in his recovery.”

Wood can relate to that idea. He recently shot a short film called Set Up, Punch about a stand-up comedian. As preparation for the role, the director, David Schlussel, asked him to perform some material at the Hollywood Improv comedy club in Los Angeles. “I was petrified and kept avoiding it,” Wood says. “Because I was afraid of it, I knew it was something I had to do. It was really scary, probably one of the scariest things I’ve ever experienced. But I now know what I’m capable of doing. It was pretty incredible.”

He was the voice of a tap-dancing penguin in the cartoon Happy Feet, and now Elijah Wood finally got the chance to display his smooth dance moves in reality.

The 31-year-old actor was spotted performing a dance sequence to Singing in the Rain today on the LA set of his TV show, Wilfred.

He and co-star Jason Gann, who is always dressed in a dog suit on the FX series, really got into their routine as they pranced around the set.

In the first episode of the series, which debuted last year, Ryan attempts to kill himself several times.

His female neighbour gives him something else to think about when she asks him to watch her dog, Wilfred, for the day.

Ryan is confused, because though everyone else in the world views Wilfred as a mere dog, he sees the pet pooch as an Australian man in a dog suit.

The quirky series’ second season premieres on June 28.

Meanwhile, the Happy Feet star will reprise another role that focuses on his lower extremities when The Hobbit is released in December.

He will star in the highly anticipated Lord of the Rings prequel as ring bearer Frodo Baggins of The Shire.

The epic adventure will be released in two parts; the second is due out in 2013.

The film co-stars Martin Freeman, Ian Holm and Ian McKellan.
